  2. UPDATE: Broken Finger

Future summer shows have been cancelled due to a broken middle finger on my left hand. This injury was a result of attempting a complicated maneuver from a rope swing into a large body of water far below.  As you can imagine, it makes it rather difficult to play guitar with a splint but I hope to be playing again very soon.

  3. See you and me have a better time than most can dream of, better than the best, so we can pull on through, whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down, and if nothing can be done, we’ll make the best of what’s around.

  7. Gazebo Show w/ Autumn Caller

The intimate gathering of Grace College students at the show this evening was warm and friendly.  Colored strands of lights, Chinese lanterns, and Tiki torches decorated the gazebo on the front lawn of Kent Hall for a furniture unveiling show featuring live music and baked deserts.

It was a short event, but the atmosphere was chill. Thanks to everyone who came for making it a great time.

  8. You Get What You Give Review

This Georgia-based sextet owes as much of its stylistic diversity to reggae singers, soul crooners and rock bands as it does to Charlie Daniels and his ilk. On Zac Brown Band’s new album, the group routinely and capably flits between genres, often in the same song. ZBB is equally adept at fiddle-breaking barnburners like “Whiskey’s Gone” and “Who Knows” and lyrically profound tunes like “Colder Weather.” On the happy-go-lucky “Knee Deep,” which sounds like a derivation of the band’s own hit “Toes,” Jimmy Buffett joins them in a personal paradise where the ocean is my only medication. “Martin” is a sweet tribute to the power of music, while the band revels in the life of a traveling musician on “I Play the Road,” complete with an explanation to a young daughter who wonders, Where do you go when you leave me all these nights with a guitar in your hands. Alan Jackson gives almost fatherly advice on “As She’s Walking Away,” and the band’s vibrant harmonies and distinguished musicianship complement Zac Brown’s warm, grizzled voice throughout this generous 15-track disc.
